Pakistan Gears Up for Grand 'Shaheed-e-Ummat' Gathering in Lahore

Preparations are in full swing across Pakistan for the grand "Shaheed-e-Ummat" (Martyr of the Ummah) gathering, as a press conference of the Pakistan Ummah Unity was held in Lahore with the participation of prominent Shia scholars and figures.

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Sayyed Jawad Naqvi, head of the Pakistan Ummah Awakening Movement (Tahreek-e-Bedari-e-Ummat-e-Mustafa), told reporters that following sustained efforts by organizers and grassroots activists, the government of Punjab province has granted permission for the mega gathering.

Stressing the significance of the event, Naqvi called on all segments of society and national and social groups to attend the grand assembly in large numbers and to pay tribute to "Shaheed-e-Ummat" by honoring the services, struggles, and sacrifices of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

The Pakistani scholar noted that the event takes place against the backdrop of significant developments in the Muslim world, asserting that Shia-Sunni unity and convergence have grown stronger than ever. He said that the Israeli regime has attempted to sow discord and division among Muslims, but the Islamic Ummah has foiled these conspiracies through displays of unity and solidarity.

"Today, whenever the Islamic Republic of Iran responds to acts of aggression and threats, the strongest support and satisfaction is witnessed from the people of Pakistan," Naqvi said. He added that the Shia community has consistently played a constructive role in the stability, security, and progress of the country, while Pakistan's political and military leadership has also rendered valuable services by playing a mediatory role in the region.

Hojatoleslam Naqvi further stated that the Pakistani government has performed roles at critical regional junctures that many other nations could not have undertaken, describing this as a source of pride for the Pakistani people.

Underscoring the organizers' commitment to the country's laws, he said peace, unity, and national cohesion form the fundamental principles of their charter. All programs linked to the "Shaheed-e-Ummat" gathering will be conducted within the framework of government laws and regulations, he affirmed, adding that the state is extending the necessary cooperation and the event will be carried out with full coordination in the best possible manner.

Wide-Ranging Invitations Issued

Also addressing the press conference, Hojatoleslam Muhammad Amin Shahidi, head of Pakistan Ummat-e-Wahida and director of the "Shaheed-e-Ummat" gathering, announced that various Shia and Sunni parties and movements—including Pakistan's Jamaat-e-Islami—have been invited to participate in the grand assembly.

Shahidi further revealed that special arrangements have been made to facilitate the participation of women, with dedicated facilities and sections allocated for female attendees. He said a significant turnout of women is expected at the large-scale event.
